How to Get the Results You Want for The Big Day with Your Diet and Nutrition
Now that the holiday parties are over and all the Christmas treats have been consumed, it is the perfect time to start thinking about getting a jump start on your wedding day fitness and nutrition goals. There is no time like the present to start making healthy lifestyle changes. At Bells and Barbells, we ensure that each and every one of our clients does that in a way that stays with them long after they say “I do”.
Here are my top 5 ways to stay on track and keep crushing your goals, hope they help you! We have an open door policy here at Bells and Barbells, so if you ever have a question or need advice please feel free to reach out!
Have a Plan
I know, I know you have heard this SOOO many times but it is honestly the most fool proof step to help you stay focused. Plan your meals, plan your workouts, plan your cheat meals, plan your recovery and get ready to love your body and rock your wedding dress.
Meal Prep
You can plan your meals, but unless you take the time to prepare them you will most likely fall off by mid-week and with your wedding date getting closer and closer, there is no time to waste! I like to cook a few options for both my lean protein and veggie sources. That way I am not getting bored.
Make a Commitment
Whether this is to yourself or to a fitness program. Make it, stick to it and make sure you put in a 100%. Go to your training sessions and don’t just go in blindly. I ALWAYS encourage our brides and grooms to ask as many questions as they need. I want them to know how to program for themselves, how to walk into a gym and get an effective workout in.
Cheat
Yup that’s right, you need to have a day off from your workouts and nutrition plan just like you do from work. Finding balance is so important to not only staying sane but also for staying on track.
AVOID Quick Fixes Like the Plague!
I maybe one of the few to come out and say it, but I know a ton of people are already thinking it. Toss those overpriced shakes and gross diet bars out the window and start picking up fresh ingredients. Those processed items don’t teach you how to eat healthy they just give you an easy way out. Guess what happens when you go off of them? You gain the weight right back because they want you to become reliant on them. They want you to spend $300 a month. We can teach you how to make a shake and or energy/protein bar with 10x the amount of nutrients. Oh and by the way, those companies disguise what is really going into their products and when tested by outside labs, the results aren’t pretty. So, if you want to do this and you really want to get into the best shape of your life then do it right the first time so you only have to do it once.
