How exercise can help you lose weight & reduces stress!
“Exercise in almost any form can act as a stress reliever. Being active can boost your feel-good endorphins and distract you from daily worries” – The Mayo Clinic
Preparing for a wedding can sometimes leave you feeling overwhelmed and a little exhausted. You have so many things to plan and to do! Dress fittings, dance lessons, selecting music withe your DJ, table settings and placements, how will you ever find the energry!?
You’re probably thinking, “Ok, thanks for pointing out the obvious but, what can I do to fix it?”
One of the best ways to manage stress is exercise. Exercise increases the production of your brain’s feel-good neurotransmitters, called endorphins. You’ve probably heard friends talk about runner’s highs, this is what they are referring too. That addictive rush of feel good hormones pumping through your body, causing you to feel motivated, energized and unstoppable. Exercise also allows you much needed “alone time”, an opportunity for you to separate yourself from everything else going on in your life. I like to refer to exercise as, moving meditation. After an intense workout, you will often find problems easier to solve and will notice a certain level of mental clarity.
Here are a few tips that will help keep you sane, happy and working towards a stronger and healthier version of yourself.
1) Decide if you’re a morning person or a night owl. Decide at what time of the day you are at your best and can give your all to a workout. Give yourself at least 45 to an hour minutes that can realistically commit too. This is now YOUR time, dedicate it to achieving your personal fitness goals.
2) Start writing down a few of these goals, allow yourself to get excited about them, visualize them and let the motivation and creativity flow!
3) Get honest with yourself about your goals. Are they realistic? Do you need additional motivation? Such as working out with a trainer or a bridesmaid? PICK UP THE PHONE AND START MAKING CALLS.
